Terms of Use

By creating an account or submitting an application on this portal, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the portal.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Teachers Recruitment Portal application portal ("the portal"), operated by the Delta State Government. By using the portal, you accept these Terms in full.

2. Eligibility

To apply you must:

• Hold one of the qualifications published for the subject area you are applying for.
• Have been 35 years of age or below as at the date of the advertisement.
• Have completed the National Youth Service, or hold a valid exemption or exclusion certificate.

Registration or induction with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria is not a requirement, but is an added advantage.

Submitting an application does not guarantee eligibility, shortlisting or selection. Eligibility is determined by the Ministry against the criteria in force, and an application made for a subject area that your qualification does not cover will not be shortlisted.

2a. Conditions of appointment

Candidates who are successful are expected to serve in rural or riverine schools for a period of at least five years in the first instance. By applying, you confirm that you are aware of this and are prepared to accept such a posting.

3. Your account

• You register using your phone number and a password of your choice, and you are issued an application number.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You must not share your account credentials or allow another person to apply on your behalf using your identity.
• If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, you should change your password immediately.
• One application per person. Your phone number and NIN identify you across this exercise. Creating more than one account, or applying under more than one identity, may result in all of your applications being set aside.
• Keep the phone number you registered with active. All notices in this exercise are sent to it by SMS, and it is also your username.

4. Accurate information

You agree to provide true, accurate, current and complete information in your application, including your bio-data, National Identity Number (NIN), qualifications and supporting details. Providing false, misleading or fraudulent information — including impersonation or misrepresenting your qualifications or identity — may result in disqualification and, where applicable, referral to the relevant authorities.

5. Application process

• The form is completed in seven steps. Your progress is saved as you move between them, and you may sign in again later to continue.
• An application is only before the Ministry once you have completed the final review step and submitted it. An application still in progress when the portal closes has not been submitted, and the Ministry cannot reopen it.
• You may amend a submitted application while the portal remains open. Editing is closed at the discretion of the Ministry, and always once the exercise closes.
• Your identity is verified using your NIN as part of the assessment.
• Shortlisted candidates sit a computer-based test. Only candidates successful at that test are invited to an oral interview and microteaching practicum.
• Notices at every stage are sent by SMS and shown on your dashboard.
• Shortlisting and selection decisions are made by the Ministry and are final.

6. No fees

Applications to the Teachers Recruitment Portal are free of charge. The portal will never ask you to pay a fee to apply, to be shortlisted, or to be selected. If anyone requests payment in connection with your application, you should treat it as fraudulent and report it through the Help Desk on your dashboard, with any evidence you have.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit multiple or duplicate applications using false identities.
• Upload content that is unlawful, offensive, or that infringes the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the portal, other accounts, or its underlying systems.
• Introduce malware, or attempt to disrupt, overload or interfere with the portal's operation.
• Use automated means to access, scrape or submit data through the portal without authorisation.

8. Intellectual property

The portal, its content, logos and design are the property of the Delta State Government or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, reproduce or reuse any part of the portal except as necessary for your own legitimate use of the application service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the portal is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data. By using the portal, you consent to the processing of your data as described in that policy.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the portal available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Registration may be opened or closed, and features may be changed, at the discretion of the Ministry. We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a revised version on this page.

11. Disclaimer and liability

The portal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Delta State Government is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the portal, including any loss of data or any reliance on information obtained through it.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in Nigeria.
